A Shout For Word Wednesday

Thinking of what to post this morning, I started to wonder what was on my mind a decade ago. Back into the digital filing structure for the folder marker “2010” and there was a wealth of documents staring me down.

This is always a terrifying moment.

After digging through a few, this one seemed to stand out to me. So I hope you enjoy it as well. As usual, I haven’t bothered to do a lick of editing.

but for the shouting

all things end,
only rarely
do we know
why.

societies crumble,
governments
falter or are
overthrown
or collapse
under their
own morbid
girth.

men and women
and children
die each
day for
no apparent
reason
other
than
it wasn’t
their time
to keep
on
living.

there’s unity
in an
eternity
of confusion:
this
link
is what
keeps
most of
us
from
screaming.

on most
days
at
least.
